Experience
Here are some details about my education and experience in the field. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). This means that I have a master's degree, have been supervised working as a counselor for two years after my degree, and I have completed the state licensing exam. More specifically, I graduated with honors in psychology from Oberlin College, then completed a master's degree at the University of Washington's clinical psychology program with an additional specialization in child and adolescent psychology.
I have worked for both Seattle Mental Health and Overlake Hospital as a child and family therapist before opening a private practice. At Seattle Mental Health I was a member of both the children's community support program and the after-hours crisis team. At Overlake Hospital I worked in a day treatment program for adolescents recovering from a major mental health crisis. I also worked within a special school for children with severe behavioral and emotional difficulties. These experiences allowed me to develop expertise in crisis management, the management of aggressive behaviors, and suicide prevention in addition to broadening my therapy skills.
